iRacing to Model Riley Mk XX Daytona Prototype

Most Successful Grand-Am Prototype Racer

To Be Included in Motorsport Simulation

BEDFORD, MA (July 18, 2008) - iRacing.com will add the Riley Mk XX Daytona Prototype to the stable of racing cars available to users of the company's motorsport simulation software and service. The agreement was announced today by Bill Riley, president of Riley Technologies and Scott McKee, iRacing's vice president of marketing.

"Riley Technologies is one of the world's foremost designers and manufacturers of racing cars, and the Mk XX continues Riley's long line of winning prototype sportscars," McKee said. "Several Daytona Prototype drivers have already made use of our service as part of their pre-race preparation for Grand-Am events; with the top car in the class becoming available, and so many of the tracks where they race already in our inventory, we expect even more teams and drivers will decide to take advantage of our simulation service for race rehearsals."

"I drove a pre-release version of the iRacing software last December at the Performance Racing Industry show in Orlando," Riley said. "The accuracy of the tracks and the cars was just amazing. One of the secrets of our company's long-term success has been the level of support we provide for our customers. I look at our association with iRacing as an extension of that service; now the drivers for our teams can get meaningful behind-the-wheel practice before a test session or a race. That's a big advantage."

Ian Berwick, vehicle dynamics engineer at iRacing, noted that working closely with Riley's engineering staff and having access to their design and performance data will permit iRacing to produce an extremely precise digital representation of the physical race car. "That's one of the benefits of licensing all of the content in our simulation - tracks as well as cars," said Berwick. "To be useful to real-world racers, the level of fidelity needs to be really high; approximations just aren't good enough."

One of the keys to making the Riley Daytona Prototype perform in the simulation precisely as it does in the real world is reproducing the car's aerodynamic qualities accurately. "Our general aerodynamic model is very good, and getting better all the time," Berwick said. "But we'll be able to check our values against what the Riley engineers have found in their real-world testing. For a high-downforce car like this one, that's an important factor."

The iRacing.com laser scanning team recently visited Riley Technologies' Mooresville, N.C., facility to scan the Mk XX for modeling purposes. Additional data gathering is underway, and the same version of the car that the Grand-Am professionals will use for their race rehearsals will be available to all iRacing subscribers later this year.

iRacing.com was founded in September of 2004 by Dave Kaemmer and John Henry. Kaemmer was co-founder of Papyrus Racing Games, Inc., developers of award-winning racing simulations including NASCAR Racing: 2003 Season and Grand Prix Legends. Henry is principal owner of the Boston Red Sox and Fenway Sports Group - the co-owner of Roush Fenway Racing - as well as an avid simracer. The iRacing.com team combines more than 100 years of real-world racing experience with more than 50 years of successful racing simulation development.

iRacing.com Internet Racing Service Opens Doors

Gradual Ramp-Up Begins With Wave of E-mail Invitations

BEDFORD, Mass. (June 25, 2008) – Having completed beta testing earlier this month, iRacing.com today began a phased rollout of its internet racing service with the distribution of several thousand invitations to subscribe. In addition, the company offered further detail as to when the service would be available to the general public.

"This first wave of invitations really marks the start of our launch of iRacing.com," said Scott McKee, vice president of marketing for iRacing.com. "Completing beta was an important final step for us to confirm that all of our back-end systems were functioning correctly. We still want to be careful to ramp up the service in a controlled fashion that ensures each subscriber will enjoy a high quality experience. But over the next week or so, we expect to add thousands of new members, which means that our scheduled races will be more fully populated. We'll begin to see the iRacing service work as it was designed to and the community of iRacers begin to come alive."

McKee explained that this initial list of invitees included names supplied by the beta test group, each of whom was permitted to nominate ten additional names, as well as individuals who had registered on the iRacing.com public Web site. Subsequent waves of invitations, which are to be distributed throughout the summer, will include iRacing corporate partners and additional registrants from the iRacing public site.

"We expect to have our doors wide open by the end of the summer," McKee said. "But people who want to get started sooner can still go our site (www.iracing.com), register for updates and get on the list. As part of the process of gradually expanding the membership, we'll be sending out additional waves of invitations over the next couple of months."

One-month subscriptions are available to invitees for $20, while the purchase of an annual subscription brings the monthly cost down to $13. All subscription packages include all the cars and tracks necessary to compete in the iRacing rookie oval and road-racing series. Additional cars and tracks can be added as a driver progresses through the service or can be purchased at any time and used for testing.

iRacing.com Unveils New Public Web Site

iRacing.com Unveils New Public Web Site

Sole Storefront and Registration Site for Internet Racing Service

BEDFORD, MA. (June 11, 2008) – iRacing.com, which is introducing an innovative Web-based motorsport simulation and internet racing service, today announced the opening of a completely revamped public Web site. The new site, www.iracing.com, features product information, testimonials from professional racers, news and video. Most importantly, it is the sole point of purchase for subscriptions to the iRacing service.

"As the only place you can subscribe to the iRacing service, our Web site has to address the needs of all of our prospective customers, who represent a wide variety of motorsports participants and enthusiasts," said Scott McKee, iRacing's vice president of marketing. "This new site conveys a lot more information than our previous site, and it does so in a more user-friendly and visually interesting way, making it even easier to understand our service, register for news updates or buy a subscription and get started racing online."

Although development of iRacing's simulation software and internet racing service will continue indefinitely, the company recently completed beta testing and has commenced a gradual public launch process, in which the new public site will play a key role.

"In order to maintain a high-quality customer experience, we're being careful to grow our community slowly," explained McKee. "For at least the next couple of months, we'll be adding new members by invitation only. Some of those invitations will go to people nominated by our beta testers and some will go to our corporate partners – graduates of Skip Barber Racing Schools, for instance – but individuals can secure one of those early invitations for themselves, too, just by registering for updates on the new public site. The registration database will be a primary source for our invitation list."

Visitors to the new iRacing site will see a short, introductory flash video, showing clips of on-track action from within the iRacing simulation as well as footage from physical-world racing. From the home page, visitors can investigate various aspects of iRacing's service, including testing/training, racing and community, as well as the technology behind the simulation and the cars and tracks currently available.

"The new public site will be refreshed frequently," said McKee. "Not only will we have regular news updates, but we'll be adding new product information, new features, a merchandise store, and, of course, once we've completed the invitation-only phase of our launch, we'll open up the subscription function to the general public."

iRacing.com was founded in September of 2004 by Dave Kaemmer and John Henry. Kaemmer was co-founder of Papyrus Design Group, developers of award-winning racing simulations including NASCAR Racing: 2003 Season and Grand Prix Legends. Shorter terms of six and three months are priced at $15 and $17 per month, respectively. A one-month trial subscription is available for $20.

"We're building a community," said David Kaemmer, iRacing.com's CEO. "Our pricing reflects our desire to attract simracers who are interested in being part of that community over time, providing the lowest monthly rate to those willing to commit to a longer subscription. At the same time, we want to offer people a low-cost way to try out our service and see if it meets their needs."

Kaemmer noted that every subscription, regardless of length, includes a selection of both oval and road-racing cars, tracks and series, as well as a certain number of free "iRacing Dollars" that can be applied to the purchase of additional content. As with the monthly subscription price, annual membership offers an advantage, bringing $60 worth of free iRacing credit.

"We expect to appeal to racers of all types, including all skill levels and budgets," said Tony Gardner, the company's president and CFO. "Through the purchase of additional content - tracks and cars - subscribers will be able to drive what they want, where they want, and when they want. Some of our members will want to have every track and every car right away. Some will only ever be interested in a very limited number of cars and tracks. Some may want to purchase everything up front, and some may want to progress more slowly, using mainly their free iRacing dollars to collect content over time. The point is to offer a pricing solution for everyone."

"We've spent a lot of time and committed substantial resources to create the most accurate racing simulation outside of what the top Formula One teams use," said Gardner. "With this approach we expect a typical member's average monthly cost, including content, will be on the order of $16 to $19 over a three year period - which we think is very reasonable for the quality of experience we provide."

Kaemmer, who races in both the physical and virtual worlds, emphasized the importance of the inclusion of both experienced simracers and those who race in the physical world in the development of the new sim.

"We're grateful to all of the people who have participated in the development process as testers," Kaemmer said. "The input of the experienced simracers into literally every aspect of the user experience, combined with the expertise of the real-world racers validating car and track accuracy, has resulted in a product that we think will be truly groundbreaking. We know we can't be all things to all people, but with all of the help we've had, we're hoping to get as close as possible to meeting the needs of everyone in the community."

SSR 24H Challenge - LAYOUT AND REGULATIONS

Classes

The starting field is made up of three
groups - G1, G2 and G3 - who race together in the same race. The event will be
decided both as a race with an overall winner plus as a race with winners
within each class.

Qualifying

Qualifying is 120 minutes and split into
two sessions of 60 minutes each to set a laptime. Number of laps is unlimited. A
laptime must be set in both qualifying sessions. The team must nominate two
qualifying drivers who will do one session each. The starting position will
then be given as an average of the position gained from the both sessions. If
two teams get the same position, the result from qualifying session one will be
decider. After the qualifying, Race control (RC) will save the result and
servers plus all computers will be rebooted for the race.

Race

Race is decided over 24 hours. Start will
be behind Safety car (SC) driven by RC.

When the race is started, the cars will
automatically be moved to its position on the grid. All drivers must be careful
not to move until the lights go from red to green or else the game will give a
black flag for jumpstart.

When the lights go from red to green, all
drive nice and easy away in ONE line behind the SC. SC will keep approximatly
100 kph during the formation lap up until the exit of the Bit turn, out on the
GP track back straight when it will speed up and leave the field. NO OVERTAKING
will be allowed UNTIL the point where the field leaves the GP track. At the
exit of the GP track, the race is effectively started.

Simracing is not a contact sport and "over
offensive driving" will be punished. Brake in time when you have a driver ahead
of you and do not try to overtake unless you are certain to manage the overtake
without collision. A good sportsman simracer prefer to drive off the track
rather than crashing into another driver.

If you would end up beside the track, show
extreme caution as you re-enter that track as visibility is very limited from
the cars.

Safety car and reconnection

If the SC has to come out, it will drive up
to the turn where the track takes off to the Nordschleife and stop there. A
flashing light will show in the racing room to notify the driver that SC is
going out. The cars can race to the start/finish line but are not allowed to
overtake after that. Drive up to the SC and stop behind it in ONE line. When RC
gives the order, drivers press ESC to park the cars in the garage. When all
cars are parked in the garage, servers and clients are rebooted and
reconnection is made. Grid is sorted and thereafter the SC makes the restart
the same way as when the race was started. All competitors, excluding anyone
that might have been disqualified by RC, re-enters the race.

During the race, if a car is left standing
on the track or in the terrain or is unable to repair at a usual pitstop, it
can be placed in the garage for repairs. This is made with the ESC button and
the team notifies RC. A repair will take a maximum of 45 minutes. After that
time the SC will go out and a full restart is being made as described above. No
repair restart will be made within the races first hour or in the last 90
minutes.

Cutting rule

At least two wheels must always be on (or
in the air directly above) the track. As track the tarmac within the painted
with lines, the white lines and also the kerbs are counted. "Widening" of
kerbing, often painted green is NOT counted as part of the track. A driver
found by RC to cut the track can be given a stop and go penalty. If you
accidently cuts, avoid penalty by slowing down and show that you did not make
up any time on the cut.

Server settings

Difficulty: Simulation

Fuel consumption: x1

*When cars are in parc ferme, it is not
allowed to drive or work with cars or any other technical equipment. Does also
apply on non connected computers, pit wall etc. If ie a hardware failure
makes it necessary to do repairs, a race steward can give permit to work on
that specific detail.

Car selection

The race will be decided in three classes -
G1, G2 and G3 - with a maximum of 10 cars in each class. A maximum of two teams
will be allowed to drive the same model. Exception: The organizers are aware
that some teams may be forced to use a certain car brand because of contractual
reasons from non-simulated racing. These teams will not be affected by this
rule. Contact Harnvi for details.

All cars will be from a selection of
rFactor mods. They will use the same physics as original mod has so that teams
can test and evaluate cars and work on setups. In all cases except one, it will
be allowed to use the updates shipped with the mods. Exception is "Engine
& Drivetrain" on Porsche Fabcar Challenge where only " Original Fabcar
Performance Package" is allowed. The other Porsche Fabcar upgrades are allowed.
This rule may be updated if mods are updated before the LAN.

Adjustements for tyres, damage model,
repair and service times will be made and all cars will be fitted with a 100
liter standard fuel tank. Pit stops will take longer time than in the original
mod and for the fastest cars within each class additional time will be added at
pit stops to slightly even out differences within class. Adjustements for tyres
will only affect wear variables so that the tyres don't puncture before fuel
tank is empy during normal race speed.

For the PCC 2007 cars we will use the
graphics from PCC2005 because of the tough performance hogs they would
otherwise present during night racing. The physics will however be from PCC
2007. Remember this when producing the team texture if you select PCC 2007.

The selection

Practically the selection is made like
this, special arrangements may be made with drivers not living in Sweden. Make contact with Harnvi to discuss if this seems difficult:

Pay correct signup fee to account number 1201-15-01253 in "den Danske bank/Provinsbanken Varmland". Sign the payment with teams name
and class. When payment for at least three cars in a team has reached the
account, the team is officially signed up and can select a car. Send a PM to Tobias Harnvi (tharnvi on forum).

If your car selection is accepted your team will be
listed on the entry list. If it is not, you will
get a message on PM. Make sure to check your PMs daily when expecting reply!
Car selections are made in the order of payments done. Max two cars of
each model can enter the race.

You will get a paint kit with templates and car
number decals to use for your car. Paint yourself a team texture and send
the PSD files to Tobias Harnvi.

On site on the beginning of the weekend a
complete GameData and rfm folder will be given to each team. Before these
are installed on the teams race computer, the current GameData and rfm
folders must be moved from the rFactor folder.

To make sure the field won't be too spread out
between the classes if low number of signed up teams (<20), class G3
will be locked and unable to select to begin with. Teams who wants to
select G3 pays for and selects a G2 or G1 car and in the selection PM
writes they wants to change to G3 should it open for sign up. If G3 is
opened part of the starting fee will be repaid.
